  • Sooo....early Christmas present?

Kabe and I have gotten a rather special early Christmas present this year.

    I'm pregnant.

We're kinda in shock right now, to be honest.

    So any advice?

Also, I have a horrid cold right with a full whammy of sinus drainage. Any remedies that are baby safe?

I think looking up tea remedies may help.

Congratulations if I may say so.

Shock is understandable. Tylenol sinus & cold is pregnancy safe, hopefully you can get your hands on some soon. :-)

Congratulations! Okay, first up - ask a pharmacist which supplements/medications are pregnancy-safe and it's best to avoid herbs and excess caffeine while pregnant. It's pretty important to take B group vitamins during pregnancy, especially folate. Book in to see your doctor, so you can organise all of the blood tests, ultrasounds and hospital stuff.

          Thanks for the congrats.

I need to get more Tylenol, although the sinus and cold I had didn't seem to be doing anything this go around.

And trying to find a doc to begin with. Haven't needed a doctor yet, so....yeah.

Welcome to one of the first symptoms of being preggers! (That sinus cold thing probably isn't a true "cold" but your immune system tweaking out over the little one)

              Congrats to you and Kabe!

My nose ran constantly pretty much from the moment of conception to the moment I gave birth. It's one of those pregnancy symptoms no one ever tells you about.

When looking for a doctor, don't discount certified nurse midwives. Many practices have a couple on hand and I felt more comfortable with them because doctor was a man and the CNMs were all women who had each been through at least one prenancy of their own.

Congratulations, I hope the pregnancy is wonderfully boring and the cold passes soon.

                        Thanks guys

As to the cold, I'm hoping drainage isn't one of my side effects. I'm miserable enough in the winter with my basic drainage. But I have Sudafed now! It is wonderful.

And, AnaKhouri, thanks for the advice about the CNM. I'll look into that. If my insurance covers it, I might do that.

Seraph, I heard about ginger. Next paycheck I'm prolly going to go buy some.

                        And Kanalah, we totally will

So far, my response has been "Healthy."

And then one of my coworkers said, "So...you're totally having twins then."

....why must my friends torment me?
