So I find this new store. There are 3 of them in my city, but 1 is 35 miles away from me, the other two are like 24 miles from me.
This new store has a chicken as a mascot. Misspelling it, it's "Dyrt Sheep". I think most of the items are salvage or just older models. There are a lot of Target and Wallyland furniture that you have to assemble. Items are 40-90% off. I've found a lot of Lego sets that are a year or more older. A lot of Lego Movie 2 sets. I found a lot of Harry Potter, Ninjago, Friends, and Star Wars sets, like Ahch To island, Elite Praetorian Guard set, Obi-Wan on the Death Star set. I found this place in March so I was going weekly before the quarantine (and I went recently on a sunday since my bf was practicing with his band). Now I've been getting sets for 40 to 60 % off. Sometimes I find the boxes open. I found the Architecture London set open, but looking at it I figured it was all there. It was 50% off, so I risked it and it did have everything.
I found the Harry Potter Hungarian Horntail set which was opened and taped but wasn't really closed. I decided to get it (50% off), and it was missing one piece and someone had stuffed the set from Star Wars Elite Praetorian Guard pack in it. I figured the night before or before opening when the staff just cleaned up and just stuffed things in boxes willy nilly. I found the Obi-Wan Death Star set that day. Recently I decided to open it off and when I first saw it I thought it was never opened. But I see it had been closed by clear box tape. There was an instruction book from another small Star Wars set. I look at the two packages inside and wonder why there are 2 pink legos when the set didn't have any pink. maybe it was a hidden piece. Sometimes you get a color that will be covered over by other bricks.
Nope. It wasn't even a Lego set it was a knock off set. The store doesn't do returns, since the merchandise there are salvage, so you are stuck with what you get.
So the short of it is I was happy to find a place I would find Legos for cheap, but then find open boxes, and Lego sets already assembled and finally bought a box that didn't appear open but had the wrong set in it. Damn.
