So, in several of my recent forays up to the mainland, I have stayed in a Hampton. As I recall, three so far (Fort Lauderdale twice, Deerfield Beach, and West Palm). Every single time, not only did I feel like a "real adult" at a "real hotel," as opposed to some of the cheapo ones I've stayed at, but EVERY SINGLE TIME the service was top notch, and EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE was as well. Friendly, professional, helpful, beyond just normal good service. I don't know who's hiring or training these people, but they are picking the right people and training them the best way. It's to the point where I am becoming brand loyal, even though the Hampton is certainly more expensive than a bargain hotel. But oh so worth it.
Now, to be fair and balanced, let me list all the things I have not liked at my various stays at a Hampton:
1. The complimentary breakfast buffet at the Fort Lauderdale Hampton sucks.
And...that's it.
I mention this because earlier tonight I got off the phone with yet another Hampton I'll be staying at, and not only did they answer my two simple questions quickly and professionally, the guy I talked to seemed to actually be looking forward to my arrival, even though he has no idea who I am and may not even deal with me at all during my stay. These people truly make me feel like I'm at home.
Honestly, if I did not have multiple places to stay when I went home to Phoenix, I would stay at a Hampton when I was there. And when I go to Houston in June, if I can swing it and there's one in the right area, I will probably stay at a Hampton yet again.
I just wanted to come on and spread the Hampton love around. And wonder if anyone else feels the same--or indeed, differently--about this particular hotel chain. Or if there are any other chains that y'all love as much as I love the Hampton.
That is all. Lovefest over.
