Default Your stupidity has stunned me into silence.

I do some basic trouble shooting for play money. Better then nothing...

One client is just a nightmare. Laptop, poorly taken care of, constantly run on a carpeted surface. Complained it was running slow, I did my best cleaning it up short of reformatting it because she refused a reformat.

Client calls me at 9:30 am and tells me of a "burning plastic" smell. I tell them to shut the laptop down ASAP and I'd be there as soon as possible. Her response?

"Well, I burned a disc this morning. Thats why it smells bad. I just wanted to know why you uninstalled my toolbars!"

I told her I would be no longer able to help her and to take her laptop to someone else for maintenance.

*weeps*

OMG....you have my sympathies. Stupid people are like cockroaches, there's so many of them and it's any wonder how the hell they can survive in life.

I had an SC one day who was bitching at me because I wanted to uninstall her Yahoo toolbar. It was obviously corrupted as it had an off-the-wall last used date of a year prior even though it came up each time she launched IE. It was causing the browser to crash, I knew this because IE ran in "no add ons" mode just fine. And no I wasn't going to upgrade her toolbar on top of a crashing version.

SC: Do not remove my yahoo toolbar!

Me: I need to uninstall it to fix the issue with the browser crashing.

SC: Well find another way!

Me: Okay then why don't I just disable it?

SC: Not even that!

Me: If you don't mind me asking why is the yahoo toolbar so important? You can always reload it, but I wouldn't recommend it....

SC: I have like 200 bookmarks that I don't want to lose!

Me: I personally would never recommend using a toolbar to store bookmarks because of issues like this happening. How come you didn't use IE's favorites?

SC: Because I like the yahoo toolbar better, okay?!

Me: Well as much as I hate to say it either you have your Yahoo bookmarks or your browser is going to continue to crash.

SC: You know what, I'll just take my computer to the store!

Moral of the story: Don't bookmark websites using an unstable toolbar.

Haha, don't you love when people want trained help but won't listen to a word you say because YOUR WRONG. Side note, my brother had just about every toolbar installed on his computer because he installs anything that pops up, as well as that danm virus pretending to be an antivirus that wants you to pay to remove all the viruses on your computer. Thank god it my old laptop where I have a ghost image, so it goes from murdered by porn to working in 5 minutes. Actually, I was hidding a ghost image on most of the friends computers I fixed for awhile, only one person noticed 4gigs of space disappear, and even then wasn't; aggrevated when he found out how quickly I could reformat next time.

I actually almost installed the ask toolbar a week ago when trying out a program because I was rushing through but new it seemed wrong.

Worse yet are the people who call in for tech support, don't like the answer they're given, and then ignorantly declare that I'm wrong.

When people call in, I give them the short answer first to try to save them some time... but nooooo... they think I'm lying or trying to be lazy... so I end up explaining everything and end up at the same result. Wasting at least a good 30-45 mins... and that's if they decide to listen to me and not argue or interrupt me while I'm talking.

Irritating, it is.
