Thumbs down Caught Dumping Trash On Our Property!

I got a call that a Gentleman wanted to talk to security. When I talked to him, he explained that he'd pulled into the lot and saw another guy in his car shoving trash out onto the ground. The Gentleman snapped a photo on his cell phone, which the dumper saw, so he ducked his head, jumped back into his car and drove to another spot. The Gentleman followed him and took his plate number. I went with the Gentleman to find the dumper and give him the chance to clean-up his trash or I'd call the police. He'd taken-off, so I ended-up picking-up enough garbage to half fill a trash bag! We called the police, gave the vehicle information, the Gentleman's information and as good a description as he had of the dumper. When they track down the dumper he's getting charged with illegal dumping It was REALLY nice of the Gentleman to come and get us; he said seeing this really bothered him because the dumper obviously had no respect for our mall.

Congrats to that gentleman for doing the right thing, and a big fat fine to the illegal dumper!

Sheesh, if you're going to dump trash, at least do it in the publicly available trash bins. But be reasonable about it. Don't overload the bin with your garbage.

This goes double to that snotty teenager I saw dumping his old textbooks in our trash bins at the wholesale club.

Geez, and to think I get pissed off seeing some asshole dropping their cig butts out the car window. Good on the witness for doing something!

We once had someone fill one of our work bins with all their Xmas waste:

Food, paper, cardboard packaging for the huge painting they had delivered - still with there address on it. Needless to say, they were told to take back their crap or we'd bill them for disposal.

Nice that someone cared. I just don't get people like the dumper...you're going home eventually, throw your garbage out in your own trash! How hard is that??

Some areas you have to arrange your own service [like we do here at home.] If you are cheap, you try to dump your stuff everywhere else.

Hm, I think I pay something around $180 a year for my hauler to deal with my trash, and once a year or so we rent a C&D 10 yard to deal with spring yard waste and accumulated odds and ends that nobody wants via freecycle.

I would've liked to see that dumper caught in the act by the police. What EXCUSE would he have given them to avoid getting a huge fine? Ha ha!
