Minor brain burp that made me laugh.
I went to the grocery store today to use my loyalty card birthday coupon




and the cashier asked if I had a loyalty card after scanning the coupon.

I know it was just an automatic question to ask ( she just wanted to scan it ) and I don't blame the cashier at all, I just found it funny.

Had somebody at BigName Bookstore do the same thing. He caught himself and was rather chagrined, LOL.

Had that happen just the other day with a rewards card. Poor guy looked pretty tired.

I sometimes do something similar. A guest will hand me their ID first thing. After I get the info on the type of room, I say "I just need to see some ID..."

There are several questions I tend to ask a couple times per customer if I'm tired or not paying attention:
'Did you find everything alright?'
'Would you like a bag?'
