It's not always about size.

That being said, I like Hampton INNS. I have no opinion on The Hamptons in New York, nor do I have any opinion on people named Hampton, as I have never met any that come to mind.

I think that about covers it, don't you?
You forgot about Hampton Roads, VA. A famous battle happened there.

Update: the Hampton in downtown Miami is freakin' gorgeous! And as always, the employees are ridiculously friendly and helpful. Currently eating at a pretty decent sushi place the Hampton bartender recommended. While this place is not an OMG! GOTTA EAT THERE! place, it is good, and more importantly, that same bartender steered me away from a bar I had seen that looked cool, but she said it wasn't at all good...without actually coming out and saying it.

Yeah, the Hampton rocks. It's just that simple.

UPDATE: Okay, this is officially the nicest Hampton I've been in. And you already know I love the Hampton. In addition to having great staff, and being just gorgeous, this is what I encountered upon entering my room tonight (when I checked in I just tossed my stuff in and bolted, so didn't really stay here for more than a moment):

I saw the message light on the phone blinking.

Oooookay....

So I hit the button for messages. And I had TWO messages.

Seriously..... wtf:

First message was a pre-recorded message telling me to enjoy my stay, and if there was anything the staff could do, just let them know.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. And a bit over the top. I get it. You are committed to my enjoying myself. But the recorded message....stop.

And then the second message.

A LIVE message from the staff (concierge? front desk? general manager? Don't know) checking to see if everything was okay, and letting me know that, REALLY, if there was anything, anything at ALL that I needed or wanted, just ask.

We have passed ridiculous and over the top and gone straight to Are You Serious? But unlike the eyeroll that I gave to the first message, this one got me thinking, Damn! How cool!

Seriously, this is commitment. Hampton has a loyal customer here. (Still worried about what awaits me at the breakfast buffet, though...)

Thank goodness I didn't book a stay at a Hampton in the UK!

Well, back from Miami, and the Hampton there was everything I expect from a Hampton and more. It rocked, the staff rocked, everything was awesome....except the buffet breakfast, which sucked just as bad as the buffet breakfast did at the Fort Lauderdale Hampton.

But I can't complain. If this is the only thing that Hampton is going to fuck up, I can live with that. No one's perfect, after all! (But Hampton, seriously, do something about that breakfast....the eggs taste like they're POWDERED! Fare below your usual high standards.)
