Exclamation Another ambulance tale

I think I saw a few people saying this, but it didn't occur to me I'd ever actually SEE it....

Was carpooling home from work the other day & heard sirens. There's a hospital just behind my work so this is pretty normal. We pulled over - and the 4WD behind us pulled around us!!!

The ambulance came around us & tried to get past, at which point the durr-tastic 4WD driver realised why we'd pulled over and pulled almost its' whole body onto the footpath to allow the ambulance past!

Best/worst part? They'd pulled in front of us - right up to traffic lights that were red. So they saved absolutely zero time anyway

Happens at least once a shift.

Someone should tell these bozos that mirrors aren't just for checking their hair...

Whether this is true or not who knows, although it wouldn't surprise me.

A friend of mine's father is a paramedic and had pretty much the same thing one day - unfortunately as he pulled past the "inconsiderate person" he looked into the car and it was he wife driving!

Apparently he has never quite lived it down!

When I lived in Vegas that type of thing was extremely common, even to the point of people cutting off the ambulances, speeding behind them to try and run the red lights "legally" and so forth.
It got so bad at one point that there were at times 2-3 patrol cars escorting an abmulance just so that they could pull these jackholes over and ticket them into oblivion
