Default May have been a little sucky - rude Amazon seller

A few days ago I ordered some Jerry Cans (20l metal fuel cans) from an Amazon uk Marketplace seller, the description was,

"Metal Green Jerry Can 20 Litre x 2"

But when I went to get the delivery from my neighbor there was only one fuel can and the paperwork only said one (Amazon receipt says as above - ie x2).

So I phoned the seller and was told "One of our competitors has gone in and changed the description - we'd have to be stupid to sell two cans for that price". When I told him I didn't believe him he went on to say he would prove it by changing a competitors listing to say 20 cans!

When I asked him to clarify that he was offering to do something most likely illegal he said he wasn't going to talk to me anymore and would transfer me to someone to arrange to pickup the item for a refund.

Then the phone line went dead.

Perhaps I was a little sucky as I was so annoyed I posted this on his feedback,

""Metal Green Jerry Can 20 Litre x 2", only received 1 Jerry can. Contacted seller - apparently competitors go in and change their listings, then got transferred to a man who was extremely rude, said the same about competitors and they'd "be stupid to sell 2 jerry cans for £21" Phone went dead. Issue now with amazon/cc co"

I then complained to Amazon and contacted my credit card company to get them involved also.

I now feel a little guilty. Oops.

It sounds like you tried to clear things up and they were completely rude to you. Not to mention that even if someone else did somehow change their listings, that's not your fault/problem. You should still be able to return the item and get your money back. They didn't seem overly willing to work with you on it at all.

You have nothing to feel guilty for. You were probably conned.
