I have met Tom Clancy and Gary Larson at book signings.

My wife's elderly cousin was walking into a Baltimore mall one day many years ago. A gentleman held the door open for her. As she passed through, she looked at him and said, "You look familiar." He replied, "Johnny Unitas, ma'am."

Authors, mostly. CJ Cherryh, Andre Norton, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Patricia McKillip, Katherine Kurtz, David Gerrold, L. Sprague deCamp. Also Ray Buckland, well-known as both a writer and a witch (he got a bit too "friendly" with my sister ).

Doc Severinson was in the building at work once for an interview and I think he was in line behind me in the cafeteria; I didn't see the guy's face but few men would have worn the glittery jacket this guy was wearing!

I once was next to fomer NFL linebacker Kevin Greene in the iPod aisle at Target.
        How quaint Irv.....

let me see.... HMMMMM I deliver pizza in Cheeseheadland Central. Enough of the football players have semi-permanent or permanent residences here in the area (in MY delivery area ). decent quiet people who tip well.

I even delivered to Former QuarterBack who was just recently welcomed back into the fold.

BUT le sigh other than that not that many famous people come here.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

I used to work on Universal City Walk next to Universal Studios.

          Steven Spielberg
          Michael Jackson
Elizabeth Taylor having lunch with Bette Midler
          Julie Newmar
          Drew Carrey
          And a lot more. :-)

Loads of sci fi stars over the years but the four I really remember:

Nichelle Nichols was praising me for one of my costumes in the parade at one show.

I was with Jeffery Combs at a bar in London (the Trek bar before that died) and joshed him about him watching his own deaths in DS9 clips.

I was personally escorted on a private showing of Stan Winston's Studio by his son Matt Winston (who was on Enterprise) and saw a lot of their props and stuff being worked on for current films and some of their older stuff to.

And I put Mark Shepard of Supernatural off his dinner - another con friend had fallen asleep wearing a kilt full Scottish style with... ahem, a view... and Mark could see it. Then his food arrived and I remarked from a couple of tables over that he HAD to have ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Mark looked at his plate with just that *look* of wishing he hadn't heard that and I think it was Jared that was with him and trying not to laugh. I never did say sorry for that.. oops!
I am so SO glad I was not present for this. There would have been an unpleasant duct tape incident. - Joi

I don't want to brag but...I did pet Paul Brandt's dog at his homecoming concert. Soooo...I'm kind of a big deal now.

At con's I've met Matt Smith (unimpressed with that one sad to say), Karen Gillian (again a disappointing encounter), Bill Paxton (thoroughly enjoyed meeting him), and Ivy Doomkitty (more for my husband than me but she was cool).

Mostly pro wrestlers. King Kong Bundy is a sweetheart.

I actually got some training by The Reckless Youth and D. Lo Brown right before they went full pro.

That's funny. I know I've met a few musicians/actors in the past and I can't remember any of them right now.

That's interesting to me. I was unaware of that.

Though I've heard that several "big name" pro wrestlers are very nice guys outside the "squared circle".

(MUCH JEALOUSY!). I am a huge fan of Mr. Combs. He was awesome as Commander. Shran (ST:E), Weyoun (STS9), and The Question (Justice League Unlimited).

With the exception of DeForest Kelley, I have met the entire main cast of the original STAR TREK, plus Grace Lee Whitney (such a gracious lady - she was aptly named!) as well as Michael Ansara. I've also met Burt Ward, Adam West, and Julie Newmar (all many, many years ago).

In the early 1980s, I met the then-woman-of-my-dreams, Stevie Nicks. She was being interviewed on the eve of her concert on a local FM station, and I was at the time working as a pizza delivery driver. Upon hearing the announcements of her upcoming live interview, I had our cook make several large assorted pizzas, and took them and a boatload of soda pop to the radio station, and delivered it personally on-the-air, along with flowers.

I also once met one of our much-celebrated AM disc jockeys - twice. On both occasions (a number of years apart), he was a colossal asshole. Name withheld because for some reason, he is revered in my old home town, and I don't want to spark a war.

Walter Payton visited my high school to hand a girl an award for her writing.

I saw Dick Vitale in a book store I was visiting in St. Pete.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to talk to either of them.

Some from the world of HASCAR racing:

                            Richard Petty--just a great guy
Bill Elliott-- I found nothing objectionable about him, but my mom thought he was very aloof.
Ernie Irvan--nice guy but seemed not to be "all there." Then again this was after his near-fatal accident

Also, my dad may or may not have an autograph from a teenaged Jeff Gordon someplace--this was from when he was racing open-wheel cars.
