the horror!
Surprisingly, we haven't even set our Chrissie stuff up yet. Makes me wonder where the gardening stuff's gonna go though. (the christmas decorations usually take up the space where the gardening stuff currently is.)The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom

And I thought it was bad that we were selling Halloween themed magazines in early August.
We really don't sell much decor stuff aside from florals and candles. Until September anyway, now we have every fucking type of pumpkin you can imagine along with weird massive, inedible squashes that weigh 10+ pounds and gourds. We're even selling bales of hay.
I'd never seen most of these pumpkins until I started working here. Wait, ALL of them except for the normal carving pumpkins. We even have these really cute little tiny miniature pumpkins, they're literally an inch tall and 2 or 3 inches wide. I borrowed a few from produce and display them in front of my register during every shift now, I LOVE Halloween, it's my favorite holiday of the year, and fall is generally my favorite season as well.
Ironically, a Halloween only store has opened up in the former linens and "stuff" storefront next door. Marketing in my store told me they've made an agreement about cross selling merchandise, should be interesting.

I can see Halloween in August, because we tend to make our costumes here. This year the older is going to be a gonk droid and the younger wants to be a red Yaris.
When the older was still an only, he went as a tree when he was around 5-ish. That's still my favorite costume.Any day you're looking down at the dirt instead of up at the dirt is a good day.

^^HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA^^
Planogram lady began setting our Christmas stuff today. I had to help bring in the tree display tables from outside, assemble them, and put them on the floor. Those bastards are HEAVY!
And on Saturday I will be helping her request and fill other Christmas stuff. Which means, yet again, I will end up ingesting and farting glitter.Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

I've been helping the Stockroom Guy put up the boxes of Christmas Trees up on the steel shelving lining the back rooms for a few weeks now.
In the middle of the store, in the display pad, we have a bunch of Halloween stuff all set out. Those have been there for I believe most of a month now, it feels like. Some of the stuff could use some better placement though. Standing just over one of those wiry white fawns that light up, is a very large and imposing animatronic "Jason" from Friday the 13th, complete with chopping machete action. Customers have screamed at this. Customers from across the store hear the screams, and remark "Wow, your screaming Halloween decorations are really realistic!" - "Er ... we don't have any screaming decorations, ma'am. "SC: "Are you new or something?"
Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."

We don't celebrate Halloween as much as you US folk do, although we do enjoy the fun of dressing up for one night.
I did some reading though and apparaently around halloween, Disney Princesses cosplayed as zombies are always really popular. The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom
