I knew today was going to be... unique from the time I was driving into work and saw two people illegally use the cop turn arounds on the interstate.
So, most of you know that if you go to the bank, and you want cash from your checking account at the teller line, you make out a check to either "Cash" or to yourself (our bank will let you do either, but some banks have you make the check out to your self and wont honor a check made out to cash). Another thing that works for getting cash out of your account is to use the ATM that's right outside the building.
Anyway, a woman comes in and says that she wants to take cash out of her account. Most of the time when people say this, they want money out of either their savings or their money management account. So I ask the woman, "Are you taking this out of your checking or your savings account?" She replies by saying, "My checking account." So I asked her if she had a check with her in order to take money out of her account and she said, "Of course not, why would I need that?" I explained that, unlike a savings account, you need a check out of your checkbook to take money out of your checking account. I also told her that I could make her an over the counter check, but we have to charge $1 a sheet for those. So she whines, "Well, if I go to the ATM, will I not be charged for taking money out of my account?" To which I replied, "Sure, you can do that."
*facepalm* Why didn't she just do that in the first place??!?! And secondly, why did she have to be so snippy about it, even after I explained it so nicely to her?
And then, about 20 minutes before closing, another woman comes in and does the exact same thing! Only this one complained that she didn't want to pay the $1 to get a check, nor did she want get a $20 bill, but she wanted it broken down smaller. Now, I have no problem with breaking down bills into smaller denominations for people who use the ATM. I do it all the time, especially for drive up customers. But still...
Why must people be so difficult.
