I was thinking of something last night, why if megaton is made of scrap metal have they not torn down the rest of springvale? Specially when there are all those cars there that can be ripped apart and added to the walls/houses.

And why are there skeletons still laying around in inhabited areas? Those residents of the Fallout universe obviously aren't very houseproud
        Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

I just hate that I have to wait so long to be able to wear the really good armor.
just started a new fallout 3 because my previous 300+hour game that was on the xbox I sold needs to be replaced. I installed a shitload of mods including one that gives access to power armor at lower levels.

My favourite parts are liberty prime and the teddy bear factory with them in lewd positions, or the gnome holding two teddy bears hostage. It's little stuff like that that makes me like these games so much better than oblivion or skyrim. oblivion and skyrim are just way too bland for me.

Oooooh...well dang now I'm going to have to go look for that once I find my old copy of FO1.

I love Oblivion, though...mainly because of my beloved Madgod. It turned respectful when I realized his sphere included creativity.

FO3...it had such a gritty reality, but one I could easily believe to be real if it were 2277.

No what's fun is all the skeletons in those radiation bunker things that look like telephone booths. I've found so much in ammo and good water.

You can cook in Fallout 3.

In fact practically any sentence that starts with "I wish you could-" has been filled by a mod for Fallout 3. Hell, half the new features in New Vegas were blatantly copied from Fallout 3 mods.

Unless you're playing on the X-Box or something. In which case I would question why you would EVER play a Bethesda game on a console. The whole point of Bethesda game's is Bethesda never finishes them and the community needs to step in to make them awesome.

Also, yeah, Fallout 1/2 are on Steam. Though personally I still have the CD's for both... >.>

I'm playing on a very much, very small used PS3. My laptop can't run the FO games worth crap. As far as I know there are no mods for FO3 on the PS3. So can I still cook?

It's a random encounter - I think you need a highish luck stat to find it reliably. You'll also find a squashed guy in a godzilla footprint (with a stealth boy) and a used car lot with an insane salesman.

Neither Sony nor Microsoft allow mods on their consoles far as I know.

There are a lot of weird random encounters. In all of the games, really. The first one only had a few. The second one had a bunch. Including a Star Trek Federation shuttle that had crashed and several Monty Python ones. ( You could stumble on the Knights fighting a lone rabbit ). And yes, you could get the Holy Hand Grenade from the encounter. Fallout 3 had even more but I don't think they were quite as insane as Fallout 2 which was the peak of the lunacy.

Luck is what increases the chance of them though, yeah.

                          Fallout 2.

                          New Reno, 'Golgotha'.

You've just caught a con artist and, at gunpoint, am making him dig up where he hid the 2,000+ $ he stole from a casino.

"There are two types of people in the world, Lenny; Those with guns and those that dig. Get digging."

*After a few minutes, Lenny kneels next to the hole and very carefully pulls out an old anti-tank landmine*

                          "Keep digging."

*Lenny finally opens up the small bunker that the money's in, you order him down the ladder first*

"Hey Lenny! Catch!" *Chuck the landmine down after him* *BOOM*

You can get the holy hand grenade in New Vegas too, if you have the wild wasteland perk. Less of an easter egg mind you, since you have to spend a perk to get it.

Luck's always been a high stat on my characters, less so for endurance. If you're lucky enough, you don't get hit much is my theory.

I always built around Charisma / Intelligence so I could talk my way into or out of everything. -.-

That's good too. My general build is intelligence (for the skill points), perception (for the headshots in VATS) and luck (for the crits). My theory of successful Fallouting can be summed up as scientist with a sniper rifle.
