Posted on the wall of a Big Box exec who's been a friend of mine since the 70's...
My stockings were flung from the top of the stair
As I desperately searched for the right thing to wear.
It was peaceful and dark as I boarded my sleigh
Headed to work on this Christmas eve day.
The shoppers were frantic all over the store
Shouting their mantra "we've got to buy more".
We smiled and we greeted and thanked them, each one
And helped with their choices and all had great fun.
Now the day's almost over and the store looks a fright
So to all retail elves ....
have a beautiful night!
