That first story is a special kind of stupid. They try to hold a wedding party in a bar without making reservations. Then they try to get paying patrons to leave, and then blame the management for the party's lack of planning.

With that last story. Never assume your coworker is exaggerating. They are probably not.

Also, my sources say that Cod is in fact a real fish.

Sadly, I'm not entirely surprised about the women who don't seem to think that cod is real fish. I have been very fortunate to not work in any restaurants here in the fair city of St. John's, but I have witnessed similar conversations when I've been out. I overheard one couple who insisted that salmon as the only real fish on the planet and were pissed off that the restaurant was trying to pass off cod as being a real fish because according to them real cooked fish isn't white.

Needless to say, I facepalmed.
