  • Yay nom nom nom candy!

Whilst on my latest job,I happened to find another new little store selling American candy. And they're cheap!! I treated myself for my birthday!

So I have Swedish Fish,Laffy Taffy,Mike and Ikes,Life Savers, something called Now or Later, different types of Skittles and something calling itself a Milky Way but's nothing like one.All for a fiver! I shall be popping back to stack up next time. They had Junior Musketeers,Oh Henry,Babe Ruth(tried it,not keen on the nuts) and a $200 Bar

You mean a 100 Grand bar? Caramel center with crisped rice on it and the whole thing covered with chocolate? Mmm, been a while since I had one of those, might have to pick one or two up next time I'm in town.

The Now & Later is similar to the Laffy Taffy, but not anything like as chewy. Really, DON'T try to actually chew on one til you've sucked it down to like half its original size. I mean, unless you have teeth you don't want in your head anymore.

Milky Way is ok, but I'm not a big fan of nougat. There's a Milky Way Simply Caramel bar that is, as the name suggests, simply a bar of chocolate covered caramel.

Baby Ruth is one of my favorites, but you do have to like peanuts. Glad you found a good site to get the stuff you want!

I used to get Now and Laters out of the vending machine in high school.

They're pretty much rock hard until you suck on them enough to soften them.

I try to stay away from Swedish Fish; they're like crack to me.

It seems you've discovered the American-style Milky Way bar What are they normally like over there?

As for the Now & Later's -- yeah, they're absurdly tough taffy pieces. I think their old advertising described them as lasting a long time, so you can have some now...and some later. Lame, I know >_< ...But it's not as if the slogan is inaccurate

I generally don't eat candy at all, but occasionally I'll have a dark chocolate Milky Way. (I'm not a huge fan of milk chocolate, so I'm not going to waste sugar grams on it.) Are the Milky Ways over there dark?

              One Milky Way

The red car and the blue car had a race
All red wants to do is stuff his face
He eats everything he sees from trucks to prickly trees
But smart ole blue he took the Milky Way

The picture you have there looks more like a 3 Musketeers (milk chocolate over a whipped chocolate nougat center) than a Milky Way. In the U.S., Milky Way bars have a layer of caramel over the nougat. Tasty either way, though.

Yes I think your Milky Way is our Mars. It gets confusing Why can't you be the same?

Heh...Especially since they're made by the same company. Some products even have the exact same packaging design (and presumably same product) but different names (US: Dove/UK and some others: Galaxy, iirc), just to be even more confusing.

                      When you eat your Smarties,
Do you eat the red ones last?
Do you suck them very slowly,
                      Or crunch them very fast?
                      Eat that candy-coated chocolate,
But tell me when I ask,
                      When you eat your Smarties,
Do you eat the red ones last?

Oh, and I'm reminded that Cadbury eggs were different across the pond, but the recipe's changing. I guess now they'll be the same as ours.
