Because today was the Day From Hell
I swear, I encountered just about every single thing that annoys the living hell out of me. People buying big furniture items and showing up in tiny cars. Babies wailing hysterically with parents making no attempt to calm them down or find out what is causing them to cry. Co-workers refusing to help me answer carryout calls or even cover my one 15-minute break today, which I did not get to take. People getting pissy with me because it's taking me a little while to retrieve their furniture items because the carryouts are coming in so fast. People getting pissy with me because apparently we're not going to be ordering any more waterbed conditioner because it doesn't sell. People leaving garbage everyplace and anyplace they please, except the garbage can (such as the fuckhorn who casually tossed his Starbucks cup over his shoulder onto the floor causing the little bit of coffee inside to spill on the floor for me to clean up)
Finally, it comes time for me to leave but....one more carryout gets paged, so I have to answer it. Shit. This then gives the two managers on duty enough time to corner me as I'm leaving and tell me (as opposed to ask me) to switch shifts with a co-worker. This means I work 2 to 9 on Wednesday (a loss of 15 minutes over my regularly scheduled shift) and then have to come in at 5 am Thursday morning to stock a truck.
I can has two shitty shifts in a row? Why thank you! I guess calling in CBFH to replace the co-worker was out of the question. Once again laziness pays!
