  • Work question

I'm doing so well at my job that I've been given some other tasks to do (things that the others don't do). My manager says I'm doing very well at these tasks. It turns out that we may be working at this job for several months into the future, which is fine with me.

My question is, would this be the time to ask for a raise? When I was hired last year, I negotiated a higher salary than they were offering, and that's the amount I still make. I've received praise for the work that I do, and (as said above) they have me doing other types of work.

What say you - should I ask for a raise? If so, what's the best way to broach the subject?

Aren't you negotiating for a permanent position? That would be the time.

Yeah, that's a good point. I do hope that I'd get paid more as a permanent worker, because the jobs they have open involve considerably more responsibility. Right now, they want all of us to continue doing the work we've been doing (there is definitely a problem in getting and keeping people).
