but seriously, why is it that NO ONE understands the concept that yes, we do need a credit card to hold a room, I don't give a crap what it was like when you were younger, your not younger anymore and this is how every hotel does it now. if you are younger and you don't know this I doubly hate you because you never knew anything else, you're just a douchebag. And no, we won't do a courtesy hold on our 3rd to last room, you want it you pay for it.
Oh and no, I don't think that $140 is unreasonable for a 3 star in downtown San Jose, and yes, I think that $300 is a steal in Manhattan. If you disagree with me you need to take your head out of your ass and join us in what I like to call reality.
And no I don't have a discount just because I like you, or because your good looking... and if you're coming in during a special event you aren't getting any discount for any reason... my rule, if I'm not eligible for a discount neither are you.
Oh yeah, whining about how it's not fair that you need 2 rooms because you have 6 kids won't get you far... you chose to have that many kids, now you will reap the consequences.
Oh and asking me if I'd rather see the room sit empty means nothing to me, if I'm showing 6 rooms available in a 300 room hotel they won't sit empty, trust me. Oh and yes, you can sometimes get a last minute deal... if there is a lot of availability, but at 7pm with only 6 rooms to fill we aint doing that, grow up and deal with it.
The same thing applies to the people who think that they can negotiate a rate by calling in... nope, our published rates are our rates.
Oh and if you lose your confirmation number and don't even remember which hotel you reserved at please don't bitch at me... I never forced you to be an irresponsible idiot.
And also, please don't complain about your hold time... our phones keep track of average hold time for calls coming in... the call in que light won't even come on until the hold time is over 20 seconds and the que light isn't on so no you haven't held that long... and if it is on it tells us the average hold time... if you claim you've been on hold for 5 minutes don't be surprised when I don't feel sympathy when the average hold time is showing 2:10, because I know you're lying and entitlement issues are sure to follow.
So overall thank you EQ for your offer of a shovel to escape and Irv for the C4, I think I shall use both to make my escape tunnel.
