According to the page on Crunchyroll, the simulcast for episode 1 of Sailor Moon Crystal is in 19 hours and 8 minutes!
A few facts, for those who don't know:
I am so excited about this. Like...I'm very tempted to wake up ridiculously early tomorrow to watch it.
A few facts, for those who don't know:
- SMC is not a continuation of the previous anime, nor is it a scene-for-scene remake. It's a bit like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, in that it is a reboot that more closely follows the manga.
- There will be 26 episodes, airing every first and third Saturday of the month.
- This will only cover the first arc of the story. So we'll get to see everyone getting their first power-ups, be reintroduced to Queen Beryl and the Dark Kingdom, and all that fun stuff.
- Though Viz Media does have the rights to do an English dub, it hasn't been announced when that's going to happen (though they are debuting their redub of the 90s anime tomorrow as well)
- The cast of SMC is almost entirely new. The only returning cast member from the previous anime is Kotono Mitsuishi.
- A lot of the production crew has been grabbed from another Toei production- The Precure series. Several of the new voice actors and actresses have done Precure as well.
- Rather than being on TV, SMC will be broadcast worldwide on four different websites: Niconico, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Neon Alley (Viz Media's free streaming site).
- Both Niconico and Crunchyroll require a subscription to see the show on the day of the broadcast. For the Hulu and Neon Alley, you do not need a Hulu Plus membership.
