I have had my Discover card since 2005. I hardly charge anything anyomore. I am just paying off the balance.
Last week Discover card calls our home number. It is the account manager over my account. The center he works in is located in Utah. He identified himself as my account manager, & then he asked me why I have not charged anything on my account in a while. I do not have a need to & so I told him I am paying it off & so I have no need to charge anything. I also told him "thank you for calling me" & I ended the call.
Then today I found a new discover card while I was going through the mail. So I activated it & was transferred to customer service...in Utah. The guy who took my card said "can we count on you to use your card in the next 30 days?" after going through his spiel & pushing their services. I told him I had no idea.
I feel it is up to the customer whether or not they want to use their card, not up to the company.
I hope I do not get another call from my account manager asking me why I have not used my card in a while.
