I am hoping that somebody else picks them up or they do a few movies. I was really getting into this show. I do miss Stargate Atlantis too.

This was my least favorite of the SG franchise. It had a TON of potential but it didn't even live up to a fraction of it. It was starting to get better but still had a long way to go.

My only sense of closure on this is that this is how the civilization gets set up - even though it makes no sense.

From what I've read on forums and the like, they learned it would be a series finale after they had already finished filming. It was written as a season finale, and fairly well done (I thought) as such. I agree though, that was so far from a series finale its not even funny.
