My 50kb file is over the 64kb limit?

I'm trying to upload a gif I've made for my new profile picture.
The file is 50KB, and 101x101 pixels, but I get an error

"Your file of 50.0 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 64.0 KB for this filetype."

Are you as confused as me? lol. Any one got an idea?

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 64.0 KB (whichever is smaller).
