So, it's Wednesday night as I type this...
Monday night, I notice that one of my cats (Charles) is having trouble going to the bathroom. He'd strain and either a little poo or nothing happens. Then he'd jump out of the box and start heaving, coughing up fluid...
Tuesday morning, he's still doing the same. Call vet, they say bring him in. His urinary system is blocked. They say his blood work is OK, an x-ray shows no blockage in his intestines, but they say keep him overnight, they'll give him fluids and check his urinary system out.
Get call while at work, they say there was a mucus build-up that plugged him up, and it was cleared and he had a huge wizz and a big poo and he's better... but they'd like to keep him overnight to watch him.
Wednesday morning, go pick Charles up, the vet says everything is OK. Bring him home. Charles is let out of the box and runs into the basement to hide. Normal behaviour for him, I expected that.
I have three other cats (Oscar, Mambo, and Skittles) and they are all from the same litter. All three of them seem kind of freaked out by Charles' presence. It's like they don't know who he is? They're crowding him, and he's trying to get some but they won't leave him alone.
Also, Charles hasn't tried to eat or drink anything yet, which I kind of expected because of the stressful day and maybe he'd sore or something. But the other three haven't come for food yet either.
I'm hoping tomorrow they'll be hungrier and be able to get some food in them... especially Charles.
