Can someone explain to me what the appeal of this game was? I was a rabid Chrono Trigger fan, but couldn't get into CC at all back when I tried it, years ago, and I really *wanted* to like it, being the only sequel we'll ever get.

I ask because the latter can be fixed. Just plug your PSP into your computer and transfer the files onto the computer.
Both. Got one 4 GB and one 2 GB. And can't transfer files because I've got only 2 GB left on my comp. I need a new external. And need to get the old one fixed enough so I can recover my pics from Ireland

If you figure that one out, let me know because I was in the same boat.
The music and visual effects were amazing, but after a few hours of gametime without anything resembling the appeal of its predecessor, I gave up.

It's a to each his/her own thing. I have heard people rave about FFVIII, and I never got into it. VII and IX I loved (and also have on my PSP).
Personally, I like the battle system, and the element system of CC. I also like that you can't level grind, as a lot of times it makes the game tedious, at least to me. And the idea of Element Trapping as a defense that augments your offense thereafter. And that you can run away from boss battles.
Anyway, you asked.
