this is for a 2009 film called Sleep Dealers. it is set into the not so distant American future. Basically the plot is now "foreign" workers no longer have to physically come to the US to work. Everything from child care to construction work is via a robotic tele-presence link.
A world where the workers are almost literally robots and CAN be worked to death.
