Well, it annoyed me for some reason. I was on my lunch grabbing some food from the store and made it all the way up to the registers without being bothered. I was waiting in line and looking up an online coupon on my netbook. (I don't have a smartphone and my tablet's broken). Some guy at the end of the register next to me said "That defeats the purpose of online shopping." That was weird because sometimes if our customers can't find it in the store, they look it up online. You can get a product number that way. Also, you can get a price match. It's not unheard of. I guess it was weird to him that I was using a "laptop", but so what? Aren't they meant to travel with you? I didn't even look at him and simply said, "I'm not shopping online" in a distracted, matter-of-fact tone as I continued to try to connect to the wifi. Some people can't resist telling other people how to do things.
