I admit that I'm a bit obsessed with theme music. I love to find a song that sets an appropriate mood for any situation, and I think I can blame that on my former love of CSI and all its variations. The scenes in which the crime-scene techs are doing their work to the dulcet tones of a fitting song -- and especially when the criminal is doing the perp-walk as an appropriate song plays in the background really stuck with me.
Granted, I know that CSI is crap, and that real law enforcement agents are very happy to remind you of such, but nevertheless I love to imagine my future career in shades of song. I admitted to one of my social work classes that just once I want to see a child molester do the perp-walk while an appropriate song plays in the background, and everyone agreed it was a nice thought.
As such, as I go through my education to become a forensic social worker, I've begun acquiring a youtube playlist of "Songs to Social Work By" that just puts me in that "warrior of justice" mood. I'm curious as to what sorts of songs make you think of your job, and especially what sorts of jobs make you think of yourself as a competent professional, no matter what it is that you do.
In the meantime, here is my list as it stands currently:
Pit Stop/take me home by Lovage
Wonderwall by Oasis
This one is a really good one to make me think of someone getting arrested for statutory rape -- but maybe that's just in my mind....
Blame by Calvin Harris
Hayling by FC Kahuna
Just Breathe by M.a.T.
Kiss the Sky by Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra
Prayer in C by Lilly Wood and Robin Schultz
Crave You by Flight Facilities
When I'm Small by Phantogram
Stop for a Minute by Keane
Little Bit of Red by Serena Ryder
