Couples are in my top five most hated kind of customers. They grope each other, they argue, and if one is dissatisfied with you, the other quickly agrees. In short, they have each other's backs. It's like facing a two headed monster instead of one. Really nasty and EXTREMELY difficult to slay.
Or sometimes I see one part of the couple yelling at me while the other hangs around, staring, not even BOTHERING to stop his or her SO from making a jackass of themselves. Today was different.
This wife was going on an on at me about her credit card being declined, accusing me of charging her twice. I told her that I didn't charge her twice.
Me: Only your bank would know. You'll have to call them.
Wife: Why would I do that, anyway, I-
Her Husband: Shush, honey I'll pay for it *gives me card, it goes thru*
Shushing his obnoxious wife and possibly facing her wrath, standing up for me, who's a stranger, giving me a card that won't be declined, all in one? I could kissed him. The wife shut up and they went on their merry way. Wife frowning, Husband serious.
