  • Wow. Can't say too much but. Wow.

So I've been sick for the past few days, but feeling better. Friday is my day off. I worked grave on Thursday, so I'm home around 6:30ish am on Friday morning. I play on the net, read some, watch TV and play with cat. Around 8:30 am, my manager calls. I answer. Apperntly she got a call that the police are coming to take the tape from this morning, they also want to know who got Powerball.

Before she knows it, THE PRESIDENT of the company calls her up, telling her that she is going to another store for a few days. Apperently a customer came in earlier that day, asked for a powerball numbers for a day, got it, and left. Then another store got a strange call from a customer claiming that my manager give him the wrong numbers, and that she is a < Insert long rant with swear words>. The manager at that store hung up and thought nothing more.

Page towards our head office. Some guy somehow got the number for the president office, and left a nice message about how much of a <insert long rant with swear words> my manager is, and if they don't fire her within a few hours, the office WILL be reading about her in the papers.

So they sent our security to talk to her, police were there, she was told she's being transfered to another store. She thought it would be for a few days. It's going to be perment. Thankfully a few years ago I made an agreement that if she goes to another store, I go to, regardless. And I want too. So I got to take care of my store this weekend, and I'll find out monday what store is is, and what not.

We get death threats all the time, but appernetly this guy's history is pretty bad. He can't see his kids anymore. THat much I know. We've had run in's with him before (Before my time), when a clerk forgot to activite his phone card, and the clerk on the next shift wouldn't do it, (Because we can't activite a phone card we didn't sell), and that was pretty bad.

But police are looking for him now I guess, and she wasn't scared, until police starting asking her questions, and the area and district manager told her that they be taking the shift over, and she's to go home, and she was escorted out by armed security. Now she's a little scared, so I'm a little angry at the office for making her scared, but its understandable.

Mostly I want to beat whoever this guy is into submission. All I know is that he's bald, my height, and only wants the powerball numbers, and will rarely buy something.

Sounds like one of the guys who's got a big ol' Curb-Stomp Surprise coming to him one day when he pisses off the wrong people... and on that note, you got your own steel toe boots, or should I lend you my spares?

I think I can forgive the company for making her scared if this "guy" (as apparently scum is off the table as a descriptor ) isn't even allowed to see his kids. Someone's got to mess up bad before all rights of visitation are taken away, is my understanding.

And I wonder how much it would cost to rent a pack of hyenas. Or maybe goats. Goats would be cheaper, and they eat anything, right?

No bears in Australia (no, koalas are not bears but that's another story).

But there are a lot of crabs and lobsters in the ocean that need to be fed

Yeah, but the OP is in Portland, Oregon, in the USA. Not only are there bears, but there are plenty of wolves, cougars (I think), and other nasty critters that don't mind if their meat is a bit ripe.

Thanks for the laugh guys. We'll learn the truth if we have to stay at this new store or not today. Helen hates that store, and me and the swing guy went there last night to check it out.

I have never seen a more dirty store in my life. Crap is everywhere, floors are more grey then white, and it's really crowded. The people there don't know we work for Helen, who they have worked under for for a few days. Saying how much a b she is for, you know, making them do work. (I guess their last manager didn't care).

Me and swing guy wanted to do a little fun, just see what these guys are like. Swing guy asks for a pack of smokes, and they sell to him. (Without carding, and he's 20 ).

We leave, come back, both of us grab some beers, bring it up, the guy then decides to ask swing for his ID. Swing guys says he forgot it, and leaves. I go up, and the clerk asks if I was with him, and buying his beer. I say yes. The guy then presses the age override button, and tells me the price of the two beers. Without carding me. (I'm 22, but still look way under 30, not to mention store policies on two party sales...) I tell the clerk I forgot my cash, and leave. (Nether of us drink anyway, we were just seeing what they'd do ).

I've been talking to Helen, and she thinks the real reason they're transfering us to that crap store, is to clean it up. The company have been for years trying to get Helen to go to other stores, or become a manager of two stores, (Helen is the top manager of the company for stores, (Not including area and distract managers, but for the single store, she's the top, with incredidle ability to keep track of inventory and cash control and clean stores, and good customer relations). But she has always said no. (Disintrested in taking more responsibites when she has kids at home, and she's happy with her pay, and she loved our store, she's been there for years, she knows everything about it and the area, we know who can and can't be in, etc). Now the company has a true reason to move her to a crap store to fix it up for them, and they are going to force it, after all it's for /her/ protection.

Oh, and I was wrong about the not seeing kids thing. That was just somethig the area manager told me, and when I asked the police about it, (They were the ones that responded to the call in the first place) said no, and they really just want to talk to him, too see why he called up the company with, a really bad call. The officer heard it, and he said he can't repeat it, but it's real bad.

But, there is one good sign. I guess the customers over there are pretty nice, so that's a bonus. Hopefully Helen can get over her slight racism, (She's Chinese, it's NOT a excuse, but just her views towards, well most races, at least it was me that changed her views on teenangers working for her, before she thought we were all lazy, thieving rude people. But I worked under her, and did great, one of the best workers she ever had.

And we are all going with her, if we can't for whatever reason, we're quiting, and she told me she will too. Her husband has a good job, and she has plenty of money saved up, and we can all get another job, maybe even together.

I know her well enough that if she says that, she will do it. So lets just see if they try to call her bluff and not transfer her, see what happens when the best manager they had, and two decent, and honest workers, quit.

On a side note. Does anyone know the best way to get rid of mold on cooler doors?

I don't think that Derek would curb-stomp a white person, or any person after his time in jail. I loved that movie.
Anywho, This guy is 100% Grade-A whack job nut case. He belongs in a straight jacket. My opinion, someone some time in his life screwed him over big time. Nobody is that angry without having a problem. Now, unlike the "protectors" I won't say that he doesn't need to be held accountable for his actions. Doesn't matter why he is that way, fact is that he is and he needs to be the one responsible for his actions. I already know when they do grab him, and he's arrested, the first thing he's telling his lawyer is "Oh but I was abused as a child/raped/some mental issue" and they will run that he deserves a lesser punishment because "he doesn't know what he's really doing because of *excuse*" Best of luck to your manager, and yourself, and watch out for this guy. He's a ticking bomb.
It is inaccurate to say that I hate everything. I am strongly in favor of common sense, common honesty, and common decency. This makes me forever ineligible for public office.

Go to a home hardware store (anywhere that sells patio chemicals really) and buy a deck algicide.

should kill it and get it off. (bleach usually only kills it) Remember to spot test to make sure it doesn't ruin the door and wear gloves.
