Got any more stupid than the one my work put in a couple of months ago? Basically, they're not hiring temps for busy periods any more, to save money. Instead, they're getting people off the shop floor when we're busy. Good idea, cept for one thing... it doesn't work. There just aren't enough floor people to cover the tills, and when we do take them off the floor to go on the checkout they're prevented from doing their jobs, ie filling up the shelves. So we have empty tills or empty shelves, both prompting major whinging from customers.
