Things that annoy me:
1) People who come to Deli at least 3 times a week every week, and STILL interrupt us to ask "What do I do with this?" and wave their order form in my face. You put it the f*** down anywhere on the counter...just like the last 50 times you've ordered from us you jerk.
2) People who have never (or rarely) ordered here before, but witness #1, then immediately ask me what to do with their form. Are you retarded???
3) People who order 8 different varieties of meat in the middle of our rush, then ask 2 minutes later where their meat is.
4) People who pace and glare and huff at me because I'm actually making the previous customers' orders before their's. Get over it bub, wait your frickin' turn.
5) People who ask how to fill out the form, appear to listen to the explanation, then fill it out as horribly wrong as they can. Bonus points if they put it down, then leave for 10 minutes so I can't make their order until they come back and clarify.
6) People who mark, say Mesquite Honey Ham when what they wanted was Cajun Style Turkey, then scream at me for giving them ham. Riiiight...like it's my fault you're an idiot.
7) The Cheese Lady. She comes in always when we're busy and orders a bunch of lunch meat. She always writes on her form "EXTREMELY ALLERGIC TO CHEESE. PLEASE CLEAN MACHINE AND WEAR CLEAN GLOVES." This annoys me for several reasons. a) Cheese never touches the meat machine, so cleaning it (a 30 minutes process) is unnecessary. b) Of freaking COURSE we'll wear clean gloves you twat. and c) She's NOT allergic to cheese! I heard her bragging to a friend that she's only lactose intolerant and just likes to make life hard for us because we're all too dumb to get real jobs. Yes. She said that. Bitch.
8) People who come in 5 minutes after we close and want to order something. Then they get huffy when I say "Nope, we're closed. Sorry." Why get mad at me because of your poor time management skills? I want to get home on time, so why don't you toddle on down to aisle 10 and get yourself some meat and cheese off the shelf. Then mosey over to aisle 8 for bread. Aisle 1 has mayo and mustard as well as lettuce and tomatoes. So GTFO of my face.
I admit that most of those aren't a big deal. But today was extremely busy and it seems like every moron ever born came to my deli today. So I'm complaining. I don't care how petty I'm being today *pout*

I wouldn't call you petty at all. What people don't realise sometimes is that even the most trivial thing repeated enough times makes you go mad. As the old saying goes, even stone can be worn away by enough water. I don't even think these are small things either.
And number 7? She deserves

Lactose Intolerant <> equal cheese Allergy.
My wife actually has severe allergies and she is more polite than that person is. The phrase can't get real jobs ?? Kay it does take skill to work in a deli and what does she do for a living some Ad min job.
I would like to provided the following pamphlet to any sucky customer you get. Go take a breather and come back when you are polite. Sounds like typical case of "I am the king of my domain everyone serve me".

Two giant pet peeves of mine: in our deli the customers give us their order directly, so
first: when you order a sandwich and I ask, "Just the way is comes?" and you reply, "Yes," and I begin making it, already spread the ranch cream cheese spread over both sides and you say, "What is that?" I have to make another sandwich. Then while making the other sandwich without the ranch but with mayo instead, you ask what is that (olive tapenade)... repeat lather, rinse until I might've thrown away 1-3 good sandwiches.
second: I just finish cutting meat for the case and say that I will be with you in one moment. Then when you ask for the meat that I just cut for the case but cut "Fresh" (man I have come to hate the word fresh it is a word that gives undue power to the snobby snoots who say it with an air of superiority...another rant another day) even though I have right there in the case. I ask if they want it thinner, no, or laid flat, no. Jerks

I was thinkin' that, too. And I was an Admin Asst at one time. Every job, while they might not seem so, can be tough and/or take a while to learn and be good at.

YES YES YES!!! Our sandwiches only come with meat and cheese. You have to tell us if you want anything else (kinda like Subway). So when people say "however it comes" and refuse to understand that there isn't any standard sandwich, it's frustrating. Conversely, our deli wraps come standard. So if you order a Greek wrap, don't whine that you didn't want ranch spread on it. Yes, I agree that it can be complicated. But that's why we were granted the gift of speech.
And your second one? That makes me want to scream too. When they've just stood and watched as I've cut that meat from a freshly opened package no less, then demand I open a *new* package and slice it *fresh* for them...I could scream.

7) Is there anyway you can go to management about this? If she's "faking it" that is. If you're studying as well as working, next time she brags, just state "well there's nothing wrong with working to pay for college/uni tuition now is there?"
8) I haaaaaate these people! Seriously, what gives them the right to waltz in at least 1-2 minutes after we're closed, state they need "one item" and then buy out half the goddamn shop!

Management doesn't care that she's faking
I mean, I understand where they're coming from. Regardless of what I heard her say, it's not like I consulted her doctor. And if someone claims allergy, we have to accommodate them the best we can.
