"I don't work for you anywhere!"

Colleague of mine reports that a week or two ago he was in a bar. There's no real surprise about this.

A guy of middle-eastern origins came in, and one of two ladies at a nearby table spied him and called out "Just give us a couple of minutes!"

He blinked and shook his head, obviously not expecting her to have talked to him.

"I beg your pardon?" he asked.

"We'l just be out in a couple of minutes," the woman said. "We just need to finish these drinks."

Realisation dawned. "Just because I'm Asian doesn't mean I drive a taxi," he snapped back.

That's excruciating! I hope they were embarrassed...

I hope so, too. But, people don't have enough sense of courtesy to be embarrassed anymore!
