  • The miracle of modern medicine

I woke up Friday morning with a sharp pain in my side. It got worse on Saturday. My ex drove me to emergency Saturday night. Sunday morning they took out my appendix and I was discharged Sunday night.
No scars or stiches. Just some super glue and tape and even the soreness is almost gone.
When I was a kid if you had an appendectomy, you were lucky if you were out of the hospital in a week.
I'm even cam einto work today.

Congrats on the quick recovery! Yeah, it is nice the advances that have been made.

Glad to hear you're okay. Even if it's "a common procedure" surgery is nothing to sneeze at.
I have a...thing. Wanna see it?

My mom was in the hospital for several days when she had her appendix out. Then again, she was in her late 50s which may have made a difference.

              Not bad.

The MOTH™ had his appendix taken out in...let me think now...2007?

On Saturday, he had been having stomach pains. He thought he could deal. He took me to work, then went home to try to rest. He couldn't, so he went to his parents house.

His mom took him to the ER.

              Appendicitis, they said.

              And it gets better.

              *ICKY WARNING*

Turn back now, if you must.

              His appendix was gangrenous.

Everyone was amazed that he hadn't been feeling pain for longer.

                I remember that.

The FILs wouldn't tell you a thing about what was going on.

You weren't even sure of what was wrong until God knows when.

At one point, didn't they insinuate that MOTH® could/was dying?
                I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I hate getting sick no matter who's time it is.

                    Big sis, you're right.

That's on the pile of things that I can't quite forgive his parents for.
