  • Death in the family

My wife's great-grandmother died yesterday morning.

Her family are taking it rather well, it's been on the cards for a while (she was 99 and had at least 2 strokes since Christmas) so we've all had time to mentally prepare.

At least she lived a good long life, and long enough to see her great grandkids. I'm hoping my grandparents live that long, despite their own health problems. They're actually great-grandparents themselves now.

I'd ask her name, so I can look in the death notices, but that might give you away

There's not going to be a death notice in the paper, she didn't want one. She just wanted family at the funeral so there will only be 8 attending.
