Default Customer insisted on paying for something I was trying to give away.

Today a customer came up to the counter with a SF paperback that I had reflexively priced at half cover. As i was ringing him up I noticed that lower outside back of the book had mold about 1/3 of the way through. Had I cought that when I was pricing I would have thrown it straight into the trash.

I told him "Forget it, It's moldy, It's yours". He insisted on paying. I managed to talk him down to 50 cents, what we price our clearance books.
