long time lurker, first time poster. This is a login that us underlings at an internet company use to post about our joyous days at work...

A little background, we just got a new phone system in placed at work, and the "glitches" are more or less still being worked out.

This was a phone call I received early this morning. The person was trying to get a hold of technical support.

ME : Thank you for calling..... How can i help you?
SC: Yes I am having trouble with my internet service
ME: Okay I will just transfer you to technical support
SC: Well I called the 1700 technical support line
ME: Yes we have a new phone system, I'll just transfer you to technical support
SC: Well can't you help me?
ME: No, I am not technical support
SC: But I called the technical support line, why cant you help?
ME: Because I am not technical support...
SC: but I called the 1700 number!
ME: Okay, what can I do to help you?
SC: Well I dont want to talk to you.....

I have been mistaken for technical support a numerous amount of times, because clients dont like to wait on hold for tech support, so I just end up helping them, but I do enjoy the fact that since I dont have the male gender part, I am not able to be tech support ( at least according to them ) !!!!

Bah... the skin hanging between your legs doesn't determine how much you know about computers, or cars, or football, or dancing, or fashion, or any of that. People need to realize that...

I would have slammed the phone down if i was in your position.

They begged you to help them, then when you said, what do you want, they didnt want YOU to help them.

screw em.

my wife used to be a manager at a radio hack store, when she got those "aren't there any men working here" comment she would tell the customer "wait right here while I go out back and strap one on for you"

I worked for her at the time and the looks would be classic

(yes, I married the boss!!!)
