Well, today was interesting.
I get a call to go to one of the parking lots for a case of vandalism. There I meet a middle-aged woman who tells me the following:
2-guys and 2-girls, the guys carrying plastic guitars, went-out into the middle of the lot and one began SMASHING his guitar on the pavement while screaming and cursing! Pieces flew 10-feet in every direction, hitting cars and...this woman. Yes, she was going to her car and threw her hand in front of her face; a metal piece cut her arm. She didn't want to confront the group, so she watched what car they went to to try and get a plate. They saw her watching though, and yelled "What? I got another one, you want a piece of this too!?" (Indicating they KNEW she had gotten hit) and "Mind your business!" She didn't get the plate...but another guy did
There wasn't much I thought I could do, until I thought about why the guy might have been upset. I had a theory that he'd tried to sell the guitar back to the game store and that they either hadn't wanted it or hadn't offered him enough money. So the woman and I went to the game store. I described the guy to the manager. He remembered the guy. He also had the guy's address, phone number and date of birth because he'd sold stuff to the store before
So then I was able to give all this information to the police, who will be citing the guy for various offenses. Oh, and the woman is more than happy to press charges!
Thankfully, nobody's vehicle seemed to have been damaged by flying guitar.
I would like to see that guy's face when the police show-up at his house. A lot of trouble to get-into for throwing a hissy fit!
