  • Guitar Hero Rage!!!

    Well, today was interesting.

I get a call to go to one of the parking lots for a case of vandalism. There I meet a middle-aged woman who tells me the following:

2-guys and 2-girls, the guys carrying plastic guitars, went-out into the middle of the lot and one began SMASHING his guitar on the pavement while screaming and cursing! Pieces flew 10-feet in every direction, hitting cars and...this woman. Yes, she was going to her car and threw her hand in front of her face; a metal piece cut her arm. She didn't want to confront the group, so she watched what car they went to to try and get a plate. They saw her watching though, and yelled "What? I got another one, you want a piece of this too!?" (Indicating they KNEW she had gotten hit) and "Mind your business!" She didn't get the plate...but another guy did

There wasn't much I thought I could do, until I thought about why the guy might have been upset. I had a theory that he'd tried to sell the guitar back to the game store and that they either hadn't wanted it or hadn't offered him enough money. So the woman and I went to the game store. I described the guy to the manager. He remembered the guy. He also had the guy's address, phone number and date of birth because he'd sold stuff to the store before

So then I was able to give all this information to the police, who will be citing the guy for various offenses. Oh, and the woman is more than happy to press charges!

Thankfully, nobody's vehicle seemed to have been damaged by flying guitar.

I would like to see that guy's face when the police show-up at his house. A lot of trouble to get-into for throwing a hissy fit!

while not fond of the games, couldn't he have just ebayed the things? I mean most people would buy them right?

now instead he has people pissed at him, a broken controller or two, no money, and an arrest record all cause he had a temper tantrum that a three year old would have called immature

"Little Peter." He probably has that, too.

I would have thought he'd been trying to get a film done for 'guitar smashing'. I know one radio show has videos on their webpages of guitar smashing as a 'classic rock tradition' and encourages you to go view the videos.

Smashing a Guitar Hero guitar is blasphemy in our house. We love the game. It could be the guitar wasn't working as well as it was supposed to and he tried and failed to return it (cuz we all know calling the company's customer service line is just so difficult *faint* ). My brother's guitars start to lose some function but when you play expert, it does take a beating. I am but a lowly medium so mine will not die an early death.

I'll have you know that I just got done drinking a HUGE gulp of milk 1 second before I read this. Thank God. You woulda owed me a laptop.

LillFilly, great skills of deductive reasoning. Honestly. I wouldn't have thought about going to the game store at all

Well at least if corporate decided to suck his ass then they'd have no control whatsoever over that woman pressing charges on his ass.

Maybe he wanted to trade it in because he was complete rubbish at it.

If I could +rep you for that reply, then I would! (P.S. Fellow TF2 fan over here!)

Seriously, though. Why smash up something like that in a bloodied rage when you could sell it back somewhere for a bit of cash? It's the legal alternative, and you'd get money out of it.
...and if he did actually notice he'd injured the woman, he should have played the "Good Samaritan" and helped her out; it was his fault and by refusing to aid her, he's only gotten into trouble with the law.

That's what video games are for; venting your rage out into the virtual world, rather than reality. Seems like this kid has it the wrong way round.

I'm better at Rock Star than my boyf; but he doesn't throw a hissy fit. We're about the same at Guitar Hero; ironically, my boyf plays bass. XD
