Not just with the puppies.
Once again, she stopped a criminal but this time we were the intended victim.
My wife was going to be home soon and I was heading to bed so I left the back door unlocked (she's handicapped & a high risk so I leave it so she can quickly get in).
While in bed (upstairs) I hear the back door open and Kiri erupts - more so than usual. I take a quick look outside and I do not see my wife's van.
This isn't right.
I let Zorro out of his crate and send him downstairs. He doesn't alert on anything so I assume it is safe.
I take a quick look, back door is open a fraction of an inch (I make sure I close it all the way when I close it).
I let Kiri out and she patrols downstairs. Then I take them out, I keep Zorro out on the patio (he's a great alarm dog) and I take Kiri for a walk around - no one suspicious.
I called the police and let them know what happened.
So now we're leaving Kiri loose downstairs all day and night. She'll only be crated when we're home and have Luna / Pongo out.
But yes, Kiri has earned her keep again.
