New "saddle" seat for airlines

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/tr...assengers.html

They showed this on GMA today. A woman who is six feet tall complained of losing feeling in her back after 20 minutes, and a 6'2 man, asked if it was comfortable, said "Not at all!!" The rep from the designer, when asked about overweight people, actually laughed and said "Well, lose some weight!!" I know this is "only" supposed to be for "short" trips and would be considered "below coach" (George Steph. asked "What's below coach? Steerage?" and Sam Champion quipped "Cargo!") I would pay for a higher class of seat just so I can WALK off the plane!!

Here's the segment:

Quelle Surprise! It might not pass safety requirements. (That was my question as soon as I saw the name, even before seeing the pictures).

Who knew the seating system on the airplane that's in "Leisure Suit Larry 2" would be predicting the future?

The only way I can describe how I would feel sitting in one of those seats is "Mooooooo".

I know that I physically cant use one of those seats, between the femoral-acetabular inpingement, sacral impingement and osteopenia in my lower spine I would be in agony and probably end up with physical damage fairly shortly.

Frankly, I really can not see anybody being cheap enough to actually use those seats.
