Default Bitch with a side of Pwnage.

So this made me giggle ((once I was up in the break room of course ))

I am working my register, along with half my associates, on Tuesday because it is busy and insane. I'm checking out this girl who has two items, when I look up and notice the next lady in line has a "Lobby" bag and a receipt. So I smile at her and say.

Me: Obviously (thoughts in Italics)
SC: Has somewhere important to be....
GR: Girl I am ringing out.
CSM: Awesome customer service Manager

Me: "Ma'am. If you have a return, they can only handle them over at register 1." Figuring, better to tell her now than when she is up here ready to be checked out. Cue cat-butt-face.

SC:"I'm in a HURRY I don't have time to stand in that line!" ((I swear she did everything but stomp her foot))

Me: "I'm very sorry, but only the cashiers at register 1 have the authority to do returns or exchanges." ((not 100% true, but as close as the SC needed to know. Basically the rest of us are just told 'don't do it or we'll fire you' ))

GR: Couldn't you just have someone come over here and jump on this register to take care of her?

Me: Unfortunately not. We are not allowed to share tills. ((gives GR a sweet 'i hope you burn in hell' smile and prattles off her total))

SC: This is Bull S***. I've been waiting in this line for an HOUR!

Me:LIAR! I've been open for 10 Min MAX I'm sorry Ma'am, but there isn't anything else I can do.

So she stomps over to register 1, yes literally stomps, and gets in line. And I go about ringing the other people in my line through. Not two min later I see her storm over to our CSM. She has this horrid snarl on her face and points in my direction angerly... then something odd happens... I witness what I can only describe as an emotional bitch slap over take her face. as her snarl of DOOM turns into a sweet smile and her face turns an odd shade of red. CSM takes her over to another register and processes her return.

Later in the break room I see CSM and ask her what happened.

CSM: "She realized she knew me from church." Apparently SC had stood in line for all of a few min and walked over to CSM. CSM said she could see on her face that the lady was ready to be an unholy BITCH, and had just started to lay some blame on me when she realized who CSM was... then she turned into this sweet, nice pleasant woman. Because god FORBID someone she knows see her act like a heinous bitch.

CSM laughed with me about it for a while. She said she has never liked that woman anyway.

^_^ Kinda made my day

Sounds like a variation on the "Golden Rule" : "Do unto others as you would have them unto you, but only if there's a chance of it being caught and reported to your clergyman. Otherwise, it's okay to be sub-human."

I see that Customer Standard Time was in effect, too. "Waiting for an hour." Probably more like 5 minutes.
