I'm not going into great detail... because I don't know all the details.

Co-worker's daughter had a baby boy today. For some reason, he's not able to breathe by himself. Co-worker said that the doctor's aren't saying what's going on, so either they don't know or they don't want to upset anyone... The hospital is shipping him down to the childrens' hospital in Vancouver.

Please send out your prayers for him.

Vancouver Children's Hospital is awesome...they'll take good care of the little guy and do everything they can for him. They have some of the best kids' doctors there in all of BC, as far as I'm concerned.

And of course my prayers are winging their way to him.

Update: Co-worker called today and said the baby is still breathing with assistance but is not on pure oxygen anymore, so that's a good sign. The mother (Co-worker's daughter) is also doing better, but they haven't told her (the mother) yet about what's happening. I don't know if she was in trouble as well or what... I didn't want to press for details.

Apparently the doctors did have to 'revive' the baby once, but that was here and not in the Childrens' Hospital, so maybe he's getting stronger as time goes on.

UPDATE: The baby is off of the breathing machine, no longer on morphine and is doing much better. The took him out of the heated bed and put him in a (regular?) crib. He's still in the ICU but he's better. Mother is also fine.
