I did something similar once... only the alarm clock in question was at home. The buzzer was still going eight hours later. My cat was trying to sleep in the furthest corner of the house. I think it was the aural equivalent of Chinese Water Torture. If looks could kill, I was a cadaver.

I've done it at home too, my sister was less than impressed at having her lie in recked.

I've done it too. In college one semester I used to get up earlier than my roommate and I kept forgetting to turn off the alarm when I went to get in the shower. She slept on a loft and was not happy having to climb down just to turn off the alarm and climb back up.

My brother does that all the time. He's got one of those alarms that doesn't pay attention to am/pm, even though it's a digital clock. So if he doesn't turn it off when he gets up, it starts going off again in the evening.

OT - I'm curious... I notice that the word t-i-l-l gets replaced by the phrase "torture rack". So every time someone uses the word s-t-i-l-l, it comes out as "storture rack" and really looks strange.

Yeah, it's mentioned in the news section. You just need to take care with filters so that you don't catch innocent bystanders in the fallout.
