Don't pass up a parking spot
A few years back my husband and I were at the mall. This mall has a parking surrounding the mall and around the lot is a circular loop. Each lane is one way with angled spots, turn right to go into a row turn left from a row to get back onto the loop.
So we are on the loop and see an SVU pass up the farthest spot in the row. It is one we usually avoid because I don't like pulling out right next to where people turn. The walk I don't mind. So we turn and he has passed it but is too close for use to turn into the spot when he decides that he wants it. He flashes his brakes at us to back up. We don't. We aren't going to back up into oncoming traffic and once you pass a spot you forfeit the spot. So the guy puts his car in park and gets out the car. I lock the doors. He does stay by his car but he gestures to us aggressively to move our car. We both stare at him and my husband shakes his head no. He gives up, we get the spot, and walk into the mall a different way to avoid him in case he found a closer spot.
