How did you manage to drive a car through it?

Speedbumps are more psychological than anything else. They're supposed to make it uncomfortable to drive fast - though that doesn't work as well as you might think. They won't ever physically slow a vehicle down though.

and if you have high enough spings/shocks like on a truck or car with air shocks, those speed bumps are just that --- slight bumps.

Now on a sports type car -- Yeah you had better go slow or you WILL rip out or severly damage some undercarage stuff
