So last night I was bragging to Panacea that I haven't been here in over a year because I've managed to avoid all manner of suckitude... though I still spread the gospel of CS.com whenever I encounter overwrought CSRs.
Well, kharma decided I spoke too soon, and today I have a story to share.
So there I was at WallyWorld, cruising around, minding my own business, when I see this guy staring at one of the spill stations attached to a pillar. I'm trying to figure out what could be so fascinating about a spill station with its box of latex gloves, roll of paper towels, and orange caution sign, when Creepy starts looking around furtively. Anyone who's ever seen a shoplifter looking for store reps knows
that look.
He then proceeds to take two latex gloves out of the box, put them on, and hurry away.
Now some of the workers at this store wear those gloves, but they all wear blue or orange shirts and have name tags. This guy was wearing a white tee with a tribal design on it and no name tag. He clearly didn't work there.
I keep doing my shopping, and two aisles later I see him going up to random people offering to help them with their shopping. He even came over and grabbed the case of soda I was reaching for and put it in the cart for me.
Ever stood near someone who just gave off creepy vibes? I have no idea what this guy was up to--maybe he was just someone with an odd sense of good samaritanism, maybe he was going to try to get back into the stock room or steal something without leaving fingerprints--but he creeped me out the way he was acting.
And the latex gloves. Why steal the latex gloves?
Sucky? Not Sure. Creepy? Definitely!
