It's been a while since I've had something to post on this site, but today's brain burp had me rolling and I had to share it.
Backstory: I'm a Teller at a bank
The teller next to me is having a hard time talking to someone on the phone. All I can understand from her end is ATM wont accept the debit card. Pretty standard thing to hear and easy to fix normally. The woman's phone cuts out before the teller gets all the information she needs.
A few moments later the phone rings and I grab it:
Me:
BBG (Brain Burp Girl) age between 17-21:
Me: Welcome to The Bank, How can I help you?
BBG: -crackles- "Hi." -pauses- ATM -breaks up- won't -breaks up- card
Me: Sorry BBG, you are breaking up a lot. Can I get your SSN# so I can look at your acount
BBG: 2 -breaks up totaly- 9
Me: I'm sorry you are breaking up really badly. Say that again
BBG: -Gives full number-
Me: What card are you using?
BBG: My debit card
Me: What are the last four numbers on the card
BBG: -click-
She dropped the call again. So I start looking though her account, and she only has the one card connected to her account and it's just fine. There is no reason for it to not work.
-ring-
Me: Welcome to The Bank, How can I help you today?
BBG: It's me again -breaks up- Debit card
Me: You're still breaking up what was the last 4 digits of that card?
BBG: XXX
Me: No I said 4 digits
BBG: You mean on the back of the card?
Me:
No on the front, last for digits so I can find the card you are using.
BBG: XXXX
Me: Ok, I don't see that card are you sure it's yours? I can't seem to find that card at all
BBG: It could be by mom's she's on the account as well
Me: I've looked at all the cards on the account. None match that
BBG: (getting upset) This is my American Ex. SW Skymiles cards and it IS connected to my account!
Me: Wait, did you say AmEx?
BBG: DUH!
Me:
Um, That is a CREDIT card, not your Debit Card. Look for a card that is yellow with The Bank's logo on it
BBG: What? I have -breaks up again- card -drops call-
3 mins later after I'm finally done beating my head on the desk and laughing the phone rings again:
Me: Welcome to The Bank, How can I assist you today?
BBG: It's me. -crackles- I found my actual debit card. Thanks for the -drops call-
