Passenger was a victim to his ex-GF's new boyfriend, who placed an anonymous false call to the authorities, accusing the passenger of bringing liquid explosives to the airport.
Passenger was cleared of this but.... here's where the irony steps in. He apparently had outstanding warrants that came to light while the "bomb" was being investigated. So they turned the plane around (claiming engine trouble), landed, and he got arrested anyway.
The ex's bf is facing federal charges (and possible *steep* fines) for making the phone call but part of me wonders... if they knew about the warrants when the call was made.
I mean sure the caller got his revenge after all, but I'm betting it doesn't taste that sweet anymore.
