When you're that old, you should know math
I stopped off at the local library yesterday. The guy in front of me-- reasonably elderly, but shouldn't be senile yet-- had a copy to pay for. Cost, 15 cents. He hands the librarian a quarter and a nickle.
"Uh, you only made one copy, right?"
"Yes, that's right."
She hands the nickle back.
He returns it to her.
She looks at it.
"Sir, one copy is only fifteen cents." She hands the nickle back.
He returns it to her.
She looks puzzled.
"Sir, you paid to much." She hands the nickle back.
He returns it to her. "I know. I want a dime and a nickle change."
She looks at it.
She rings him up, puts the quarter in the register, pulls out a dime, and hands it to him with his original nickle.
He leaves. We both try very hard not to laugh until he's out of range.
