Here's a Different Kind of Hold Music
My PM sent me an e-mail about a conference call he wanted the team to attend. I dialed the conference number early and got this message, "The leader has not activated this call." Unfortunately, I do not like the hold music the conferencing center uses, so I closed the door to the office my branch let me borrow. Then, I decided to play my music using my laptop to drown out the hold music.
1. Since I had the door closed, I decided to play the music through the speakers instead of headphones.
2. The laptop was right next to the phone.
3. I forgot to mute the phone.
When the PM finally activated the call, he was greeted with the music of Evanescence.
Thankfully, I was able to stop the music quickly when I realized the hold music wasn't playing any more.
